Once your Housing Reservation is received, our staff will begin a conversation with you to lead you month by month towards Move in Week and beyond. Our goal is to see that your experience at Western Oregon University a positive and lasting one.

Look for information and links for My College Roomie – our roommated matching program to search for and connect with your perfect roommate(s)!

Early June will see emails generated with and Intro to Housing Selction with timeline and process details. Mid June will bring an invitation via your WOU email from MCR to join, create a profile, find and match with your chosen roommate(s).

July is Selection Month! You will be choosing your roommate(s) as well as the space you will live in for the coming year! A broad outline is below. For details see: Housing Selection Details

Reminder emails are routed – and students can start checking their Housing Overview pages in late July for start dates and times for the Selection process. 

Housing Contracts and Emergency Information Authorization Forms (EIAF)  are due by 5:00 pm, August 12, 2022. These forms must be completed and electronically submitted to hold your Housing Reservation!

NOTE: University Housing will be checking for registration for the coming term. Students who are not registered for classes (minimum 8 credit hours for undergrads and 6 credit hours for graduate students) must either register or be subject to cancllation of housing reservation and loss of placement.

Our last conversation with you before Move-In! Generally routed after Labor Day  – your on-campus address for the coming year and any last minute information regarding move-in will be passed along in this final check-up.

Fall Move-In – at Last! Tentatively set for September 18-19, 2022. Move-In marks the beginning of New Student Week, and classes start the following Monday, September 26, 2022.

New Student Week offers fun, exciting and educational events to orient you to campus and provide opportunities for you to really experience what it is like to live on campus and meet new friends before you head into classes and the academic year.

NOTE: Preparation for NSW for Fall 2022 is underway. Until content is updated, this link points to historical NSW information.

Early June: University Housing will route an introduction to Housing Selection with an included timeline for that process.

June 13: My College Roomie (MCR) opens with an emailed invitation from MCR to join, create a profile and find, choose and match with your perfect roommate – to set you up to pull that roommate into (or be pulled into) your Housing Selection for the space that you want to live in next year. 

July 18: Reminder email from University Housing – 

  • Start dates/times will be posted Friday July 22, 2022.
  • Roommates need to be matched via MCR by 5 pm, July 24, 2022. 
  • Housing Selection starts on Monday July 25, 2022.

July 21: 5:00 pm DEADLINE to submit your Housing Reservation Form and still have the opportunity to choose your space. (Students whose housing reservation form is received after this time will be placed by housing staff).

July 22: by 5:00 pm Housing Selection Start Dates/Times are released on Housing Overview pages. PLAN AHEAD – Once you know your start date/time, you (or the person in your group with the earliest start date/time) can access the system asap after that start time. The sooner you, or the person with the earliest logs in and chooses, the less competition you will have for the space you want!

July 24: by 5:00 pm Roommates must be matched in MCR to be eligible to be pulled into the Housing Selection process starting July 25, 2022.

July 25: The Housing Selection Process begins at 10:00 am for New, Incoming students, and Residential Contracts are released on student Overview pages for review, signing and electronically submitting. 

August 12, 2022 – 5:00 pm: The Housing Selection process for New, Incoming students ends.

August 12 by 5:00 pm: Housing Contracts and Emergency Information Authorization Forms (EIAF) are due. Submit electronically via your Housing Overview page.

Room, Board and Meal Plan charges will be posted to your student accounts in late August – These charges – Are Not Due – until after the term begins. See the Academic Calendar for details.
