IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER

Campus Dining has developed a procedure to follow in the event of inclement weather to ensure that students have food available to them during possible school closures and/or delays. Generally the decision to close campus is made early in the morning – by 5:30 am. BASIC information regarding the Inclement Weather procedures for Campus Dining follows.

IN THE EVENT OF SCHOOL CLOSURE due to inclement weather

Should a decision to close campus be made, managers will be notified and notice of the closure will be posted on the WOU website, front page.

        • Restaurants in the Werner University Center, and The Press will be closed.
        • Valsetz Dining Hall will be open with modified service times. Please see below.
        • NOTE: Essential personnel must report as directed by their supervisors.
          If you are unable to report for work, you must notify your supervisor. 

Modified Valsetz Food Court Hours (Monday-Friday)

The Valsetz Food Court will be Open from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

 

  • BREAKFAST: 8:00 to 10:30 a.m.
  • GRAB & GO: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
  • LUNCH: 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • LATE LUNCH: 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.
  • DINNER: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  • LATE NIGHT: CLOSED DURING PERIODS OF INCLEMENT WEATHER.

 

Student Employees

Please check “When to Work” for schedule changes. Caffe Allegro, The Press, Wolf Express, Wolf Grill and Western Deli are closed during campus closure. All catering events are cancelled during campus closures.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
