In light of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, students are strongly encouraged to enjoy this long Winter Break at home.
Having said that, University Housing will offer accommodations for students who choose to stay on campus for the break.
Whatever your plans are for Winter Break, EVERYONE except Family Housing residents, who plans to stay for any or all of the break – including leaving late or returning early – MUST complete the Winter Break Stayover form. Remember – There is a $250 charge to your student accont for staying on campus for any part of this break. (Exception: Arbor Park residents).
COLD WEATHER – FROZEN PIPE PREVENTION
In the interest of keeping students as safe as possible, this year, students are encouraged to enjoy their Winter Break at home. Having said that, we do have space available for students who choose to remain on campus. See below for details.
Western Oregon University will be closed on the following days during Winter Break: December 24 – 31, 2021, January 1, 2022.
Students wishing to stay on campus during the break – please note:
If you need or want to make a room change and you have a roommate, you will have to start with a Roommate Agreement. SEE YOUR Resident Director.
If you are in a room by yourself and just want to move, again, SEE YOUR Resident Director.

With the exception of the Campus Closure, December 24-27 and January 1, the University Housing office is open and here to help answer any questions you might have regarding Winter Break and the move-in process for Winter term.

The residence halls will open on Sunday, January 2, 2022. We currently plan for returning students to have access to their academic rooms and apartments starting at Noon, Sunday, January 2.
Move-in for new residents is tentatively scheduled to take place from Noon to 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 2, 2022. All new, incoming residents for Winter Term must be in compliance to pick up your keys at your assigned Hall for Winter Term.

This means that students must be FULLY VACCINATED or have an APPROVED EXEMPTION on file with Student Health and Counseling.* The SHCC will notify us of the status of compliance status of students prior to move-in. If you are not in compliance – YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHECK INTO YOUR ROOM .
