END OF YEAR MOVE OUT INFORMATION
Building Closure Dates:
Ackerman, Heritage, & Landers: Closes at 5pm on Friday, June 12, 2026
Arbor Park: Closes at 4:30pm on Saturday, June 13, 2026
Check-Out Basics
June 1st – 6th: Attend Closing Community Meeting – please see your RA for details.
June 1st: Visit your Housing Overview to sign up for a check out day and time. You will have the option to select between a Standard Checkout or Express Checkout, see below for details.
June 3rd – June 12th (through June 13th for Arbor Park): Checkout Appointments will be happening.
You should plan to check out of your room within 24 hours after your last final – or before your building closes – whichever comes first.
We cannot accommodate checkouts past the day the halls and the apartments close. Please plan accordingly.
PLEASE NOTE: Students checking out late will be charged $25 for every half hour after the deadline.
Standard Checkout
This option gives you the opportunity to complete your move out with a staff member.
- Sign up for a checkout appointment on your University Housing Overview.
- Go to the Residential Service Center (RSC) at your appointment time to meet an RA.
- Your space MUST be clean and empty before your checkout appointment.
- You and the RA will walk to your room and an in person room inspection will be done.
- At the end of your inspection you will turn in your room keys to the RA.
- You will then be free to leave campus.

Express Checkout
This option gives you the opportunity to complete your move out independently without a staff member.
- Sign up for an express checkout on your University Housing Overview.
- After you have signed up for your appointment, you will need to pick up an Express Checkout Envelope from the RAs on duty or the RSC.
- Once your space is clean and empty, fill out the front side of the express checkout envelope, place your room keys inside, seal it, leave it on your desk, and close the door behind you.
- When doing an Express Checkout, you waive any rights to appeal any housing damage/cleaning fees.
Meal Plan Information- No refunds on meal plans. If you have a balance on your Wolf Bucks after moving out, they will remain on your account for you to continue to use next school year or they will wipe out if you do not make any purchases for one year. If you will not be returning to WOU next school year, we do recommend you spend all of your Wolf Bucks before moving out so you don’t lose them (you may purchase prepackaged snacks or drinks to take with you).
Things to Remember:
- Red carts are available for check out at the RSC.
- Check all drawers, shelves, and under your bed before moving out. Don’t leave anything behind!
- Move furniture back to its original position.
- Thoroughly clean your room. Extra cleaning charges may apply if your room is left messy. See your RA if you need to check out a vacuum.
- DO NOT try to fix/repair something on your own. It will be more costly for our Maintenance team to fix your repair.
- The Residential Service Center closes at 5:00 pm, Friday, June 12th. Don’t forget to check your mailbox and pick up any packages. Change your default address on your commonly used shopping websites. We are not able to forward packages, they will get sent back to the sender.
- If you have a bike on campus, please remember to take it home.
- Valsetz Dining Hall closes Friday, June 12th at 2:00 pm.

University Housing will email you as it gets closer with instructions on moving into your summer room.
