Freshmen Scholarships
Some scholarships for incoming freshmen require an additional and separate application. Others are awarded automatically based on the materials in your undergraduate admissions application and/or the financial information on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)/Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA).

Merit Award
This award is automatically granted to graduating high school seniors based unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Diversity Commitment Scholarship
Intended for incoming students who have promoted diversity within their community. You can apply through your admissions application by indicating interest in being considered for this scholarship. You will then be contacted to submit a supplemental application through email.
Bilingual/Diverse Teaching Scholarship
Intended for incoming students who are bilingual in Spanish and English or are ethnically diverse or a heritage speaker of a language other than English. You can apply through your admissions application by indicating interest in being considered for this scholarship. You will then be contacted to submit a supplemental application through email.
David S. Brody Scholarship
A full-ride scholarship that incoming students can apply to at WOU. This scholarship covers Tuition, Mandatory Fees, Food and Housing, and Books after other gift aid has been applied.
Tuition and Fees for Free
A last dollar scholarship, this program covers standard tuition and mandatory fees for 12-16 credits per term for first year Oregon resdients who meel all academic and financial aid requirements (only for Fall, Winter and Spring terms).
TheDream.US Scholarship
WOU has partnered with TheDream.US to offer scholarships for DACA, DREAMers, TPS, and/or Undocumented students. The National Scholarship is intended for Oregon residents who have graduated high school, community college, or are current college students.

WOU General Scholarship
Get access to nearly 200 scholarships through one application through your Scholarship Icon in your WOU Portal. Both incoming and current students should apply every year. These scholarships tend to be non-renewable and require you to apply every year. Deadline is March 1st for the upcoming academic year.
Pay attention to important dates
Most WOU scholarships open up November 1st and have a deadline of March 1st. Some departmental scholarships have a deadline of May 1st. Therefore, you want to make sure you are aware of important dates for specific scholarships.
