alumni-10ways

10 ways to get involved

  1. Stay educated about WOU and share what you know with others.

There are a lot of great things happening on campus. We report a handful to you throughout the year in our Alumni e-News. Read and forward this great resource to other Wolves. Fan us on Facebook and interact with our posts, sharing your alumni pride and making sure your contacts know about our news and events.

  2. Attend an Alumni event in your area.

WOU Alumni events and activities are great opportunities for networking and socializing to help you strengthen bonds with other alumni. Be sure you update your address and e- mail to get the heads up on events in your area.

  3. Make a financial gift, no matter how small, through The Annual Fund.

Every gift, regardless of size, helps WOU meet student and university needs now and in the future. Financial gifts to The Annual Fund are at once use gifts that are fully tax deductible.

  4. Contact a former professor and say thank you for his / her impact on your education or career.

Western Oregon University’s award winning programs are taught by world class faculty members. They invest their lives into the lives of their students and would love to hear from you!

  5. Hire a Wolf!

The Service Learning & Career Development Office offers programs to help alumni throughout their careers both as job seekers and employers. If you’re looking to hire new employees, offer an internship or speak to current students about the workplace or interviewing, the Career Development office can help!

  6. Wear Wolves clothing and display your WOU pride at home and work!

Visit the WOU bookstore and select from a wide variety of clothing, gifts and accessories to add a little WOU spirit to your home!

  7. Volunteer to serve.

We can always use an extra set of hands! There are many opportunities to serve throughout the year at events like Move-In Day and Homecoming. The Alumni Board of Directors is always looking for qualified alumni who have a passion for Western Oregon to serve on our board. E-mail the alumni office at alumni@wou.edu if you’d like to get involved.

  8. Support Western Oregon Athletics.

WOU has made a name for itself in Baseball, Cross Country and Track & Field, but many of our athletic teams – football, and softball, to name a few – are on the rise. Visit www.wouwolves.com to find all the schedules and make plans to watch the Wolves in action! You can also support Wolves athletics financially by making a donation to the Wolves Athletics Club!

  9. Tell someone about WOU.

Help Western Oregon University recruit the brightest and best students by sharing about your experience at Western with a neighbor, friend or acquaintance. Have a few extra hours? Contact our admissions office to see if you can help represent WOU at a college fair in your area.

  10. Come back for Homecoming.

Homecoming is an opportunity to come back to campus for an array of events including campus tours, reunion events, fall sports, tailgating, & bonfire. Homecoming Weekend 2017 is set for November 3-4, 2017. Come celebrate the schools history and future!
