Effective Advocacy for Non-Profit Organizations Seminar

Essentials

What: The one-day seminar will provide training on being an effective public policy advocate during the 2023 Session of the Oregon Legislative Assembly and is designed for advocates new to the legislative process and a tune-up for current public policy advocacy professionals. Attendees will learn from seasoned advocates, legislators, staff and political science academics on how non-profit organizations can organize for effective legislative advocacy in the upcoming legislative session.

When: Friday, December 2, 2022, 9:00-5:00

Where: Western Oregon University, Salem Campus – 525 Trade St SE, Salem, OR 97301

Cost: $75 in-person per participant (parking, lunch and light refreshments included) / $50 virtual (Zoom) per participant*

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
