Sustainability

Water Conservation

The WUC aims to reduce water usage wherever possible, saving thousands of gallons of water.

  • Waterless urinals in two bathrooms.
  • All sinks have an automatic shut-off feature.
  • Every bathroom has dual-flush toilets.

Energy Management

  • Installed more efficient LED light bulbs throughout the building (now including the Pacific Room).
  • Removed some office light bulbs that weren’t necessary.
  • Replaced the chiller with a more environmentally friendly model in 2009.
  • Many areas have automatic light sensors.

More Sustainable Efforts from the WUC

  • Recycling stations in public areas and conference rooms for trash, cans, and cardboard.
  • Utilizing “green” chemicals in cleaning.
  • Departments in the WUC have sustainability plans to reduce, reuse, and recycle more within their areas.

Bike Repair Station

  • Located outside the West Entrance on the patio.
  • Includes Dero Air Kit Prime bike pump.
  • Includes Dero Fixit Plus repair stand.
    • Comes with all necessary tools for simple bike maintenance and repair.
