Are you a WOU student interested in being a student worker for the WOU Mathematics Department?

Paper Graders

  • The Mathematics Department frequently hires student workers to help with grading papers fall, winter and spring terms.
  • Grades of at least a B in your mathematics courses are required.
  • You must have taken mathematics courses beyond the course you wish to grade for to qualify as a grader. Please ask at the Mathematics Department if you are not sure.

Math Center Tutors

  • The Mathematics Department hires student workers each term to tutor math in the Math Center. The Math Center tutors tutor 100 and 200 level math courses.
  • Grades of at least a B in your mathematics courses are required.
  • You must have taken mathematics courses beyond most of the courses we tutor to qualify as a tutor. Please ask at the Mathematics Department if you are not sure.

    Application Process

    • You must be at least a half-time (6 credits or more) WOU student to be a WOU Mathematics Department student worker.
    • We hire both undergraduate and graduate students.

    • Math student workers are paid using the standard, on campus, student wage rate.

    Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
    Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
