Departments & Programs

Latin American Studies

This program combines courses from Anthropology, Economics, History, Sociology, Geography, Political Science, and Spanish to offer a broad perspective of Latin American culture. Twelve hours of core courses form the base of common knowledge in the program. This is complemented by fifteen hours of electives which allow some specialization according to the students interests. The Latin American studies minor is an excellent complement to such majors as Spanish, History, Sociology, Business, and Political Science. Students with this minor can seek careers in education, business or government. For more information, contact Dr. Maureen Dolan, 838-8292. dolanm@wou.edu; Dr. Jaime Marroquin, 838-9280, marroquinj@wou.edu; Dr. Ricardo Pelegrin-Taboada, 838-8294, pelegrintaboadar@wou.edu.
