Western Oregon University’s Newsletter: July 8, 2024

Western celebrated Independence Day along with thousands of people by participating in the Grand Parade. Western’s Mariachi band delighted the crowd with festive tunes, while spectators had the chance to meet and pet Cookie, the adorable miniature pony and receive goodies handed out by fellow Wolves in the parade. Go Wolves!

WOU in parades

A Message from President Peters

Dear Community,President Peters with WOU students

What an enjoyable experience it was to be part of this year’s Grand Parade on Independence Day and to see Western proudly represented in our community. Witnessing many of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters participating in the parade and cheering from the sidelines was inspirational. This event is one of my favorites and Susan and I are grateful to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community. Thanks to the planning committee for all their hard work to make it happen!

Summer is in full swing, full of activities, yet WOU teams are also working hard as we anticipate a vibrant campus filled with new and returning students in the fall.

I look forward to seeing many of you out and about in the sunshine.

We. Are. Wolves.
