Facilities Services is a service-oriented department charged with maintaining and operating buildings and grounds allocated to Western Oregon University. The department also manages capital planning as well as remodel and construction projects.
Facilities Services operates within the property belonging to Western Oregon University. Geographic responsibilities include 157 acres and more than 60 buildings and facilities comprising over 1.3 million square feet of structures. In addition to the Monmouth campus, this department provides services for 525 Trade Street in Salem, Oregon. The department works to provide a safe, clean, comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff to live, learn, and work. Facilities Services can help with your WOU events. Chairs, tables, and spider boxes are available for rent. We also provide event services including, but not limited to, table/chair set-up, floor matting and table/chair returned to racks. The Colorado truck, Kubota/carts, and Facilities box truck are available to rent through Facilities Services. Please note: All drivers must be authorized by Campus Public Safety prior to reserving a vehicle. Driver Authorization Form: https://cdn.wou.edu/safety/files/2020/06/Driver-Authorization-Form-Fillable.pdf Vehicles can only be used for WOU related activities. Vehicles are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are only available when not being used for Facilities Services business. After we receive your request, someone from Facilities Services will contact you to confirm availability. The Key and Lock Shop manages room access, building and door time zones, door and lock maintenance, and much more. To gain access to a space via key or FOB, work with your supervisor and the building manager to submit a key request form. If you are having issues with a door, lock, key, or FOB please reach out to us so that we may assist you. More information is available on the Key and Lock Services page.
This department oversees campus construction and projects. To request utilization of an open space or request a project intake, fill out the appropraite forms. More information is available on the Capital Planning and Construction service page.
Western Oregon University is now utilizing an online auction service to sell our surplus items. Facilities Services collects campus items that are deemed no longer in use or that have been replaced yet still retain some value. These online auctions are open to all WOU students, staff, faculty as well as the general public. Throughout the year various items will be posted with photos and descriptions of the items. Western Oregon University’s Land AcknowledgementWestern Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
