Education
The Jensen Arctic Museum offers many opportunities for visitors to learn about the arctic. We offer guided tours and classroom resources that enhance the learning experience. Among the classroom resources offered are education trunks. We currently have education trunks for elementary level students and we are working on education trunks for high school level students.

Education Trunks- Thanks to a grant from Trust Management Services, LLC, the Jensen Arctic Museum is offering different thematic traveling trunks for use by educators. These trunks explore various aspects of Arctic life, culture and/or ecology, with lesson plans, hands-on activities, images and objects that can be adjusted for students in several grades. Three identical trunks are dedicated to each theme, allowing for frequent and congruent use. The trunks are available for use by teachers, educational groups, cultural organizations and other similar organizations. Each trunk has activities and curriculum plans designed to help teachers develop classroom projects and to meet state education standards. The themes of the four trunks are: Arctic Families, Arctic Cultures, Arctic Animals and Arctic Adaptations.
Check out the boxes for up to two weeks at a time Educators, homeschoolers, daycare providers, and cultural organizations can check out the boxes for up to two weeks at a time. While there is no charge for the use of the materials themselves, it is the responsibility of the borrower to cover shipping costs of necessary. Reservations for the trunks are taken on a first-come first-serve basis. We recommend reserving a trunk at least two weeks prior to its planned use.
