The Western Oregon University student Veterans of America chapter affirms to empower all military-connected students and allies to reach their full potential. We host social events, campaigns, professional & personal development opportunities to achieve success as students and alumnus.

That veterans, military-affiliated students and families will succeed in their personal and professional goals, build relationships within their community, ensuring a strong support system for our WOU military family.

About SVA

Our WOU SVA chapter aims to support our veterans, military affiliated dependents, families and friends- as well as students interested in the military and those who have a desire to support our military community. Veteran and military-affiliated students face a wide variety of unique challenges in their college journey, and our focus is to support them in every aspect of the their personal and professional career. We host events centralized around wellness, community support and fun for all ages.

SVA is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student veterans groups on college campuses across the globe. These member chapters are the “boots on the ground” that help veterans reintegrate into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter must be an officially recognized student group by their university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending the school. Additionally, chapters often coordinate campus activities, provide pre-professional networking, and generally provide a touchstone for student veterans in higher education.
