Honorary Member

I am an Honorary Member of the Edgar H. Smith Fine Arts Series Board. This follows many years of active involvement on the board. It is a memorial honoring my dear husband, who was the head of the Music Department and the Creative Arts Division at Western Oregon University. Edgar started the series for the dedication of the new Creative Arts building. It was so well received that it was decided to continue it. Following his death in 1979, the series was named in his honor. The Music Building also bears his name.
I have had a life- long commitment in the realm of education. At Western Oregon University, I taught the nutrition classes for the Student Nursing Program and for the health majors. Being the hostess for the Music Department activities was my greatest joy.
I support the Edgar H. Smith Fine Arts Series Endowment to continue its cultural impact for WOU students and for the surrounding community, as well.
