DeafBlind Interpreting Institute 2018
Lodging in the Western Oregon University Campus Apartments:
4 people/apt. Separate bedrooms. 2 bathrooms. Living area and full kitchen (does not come with microwave, pots, pans, plates, utensils, glasses, etc.). Includes towels, washcloths, sheets, blankets. (Bring all toiletries: soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner…) Arriving Sunday, August 5th and leaving Sunday, August 12th.
Meals: Our meeting location for the week is inside the campus dining hall in a separate room. In order for us to keep costs low for housing and access training space for free, all participants are required to purchase the $100 meal swipe card even if not staying on campus. The card can be used to swipe at the dining hall or coffee shop/convenience stores on campus. If you run out of money on your card, you can reload it during the week.
The meals are all provided buffet-style in Valsetz Dining Hall. The dining hall already has a good number of vegan and gluten-free options but we are also working with the chefs to expand their offerings for the week as well.
Please note: If you do not swipe items ala carte, there is an all-you-can-eat meal price. Breakfast is $6.75, Lunch is $8, and Dinner is $9.50 (total $24.25/day). This amount would swipe off your meal card at each meal.
We anticipate many of you will choose to eat dinners off campus. There are a number of options close by: Subway, Burgerville, Yang's Teriyaki, Koyote's (Mexican), Dairy Queen, a sushi place, a Chinese restaurant, Java Crew, Crush Wine Bar, a few pubs, Yeasty Beasty, which is a pizza by-the-slice or pie place and more.
