Internships

Want to help?

If you want a little more commitment in our office, sign up for an internship! At a minimum, these internships are for one full quarter, and can vary in the amount of hours required. Internships are more project driven, and our hope is that you will have some projects or interests in mind, and we can work with you to be creative and make something happen!

If you are looking to receive credit for your internship, we can work with your professor/advisor and we will make sure that you complete all requirements needed. We frequently work with the Community Health program and help students complete their 240 hour requirement.

Abby’s House Intern

As an Abby’s House intern, you will have the opportunity to have your hand in almost everything we do. Some examples of projects previously completed by Abby’s House Interns are:

    • Creating workshops and presentations focused on gender in the workplace
    • Creating a workshop specific to athletes and supporting their mental health
  • Focusing on bystander intervention and customizing a powerpoint, facilitator script, and assisting with launching the program campus wide
Survivor Support Intern

As a survivor support intern, you will get the opportunity to work with our advocates and support survivors of interpersonal violence in different ways. Some examples of projects for this internship can include:

  • Creating self care kits for survivors
  • Assisting our Bilingual Advocate in facilitating a support group
  • Creating resources and brochures for survivors
  • Hosting healing workshops
Basic Needs Intern

Our basic needs program is new and there are a lot of possibilities for this internship! You’ll work alongside our Basic Needs Coordinator and assist them with various projects. Some examples of projects completed by previous interns include:

  • Creating a SNAP brochure for athletes
  • Creating a SNAP workshop
  • Hosting an Outdoor Market
  • Creating the Care Cupboards
Food Pantry/Stitch Closet Intern

As an intern for the Food Pantry and Stitch Closet, you’ll work closely with the Basic Needs Coordinator and the rest of the Basic Needs Team to assist with services in the Food Pantry and Stitch Closet. Some examples of projects for this internship can include:
