Jennifer (Jen) Koshnick

My name is Jen Koshnick, and I am the Director of TPSSS at WOU. I have both a B.S. and an M.Ed. in Education from the University of Minnesota. I was a classroom teacher, and I love working with future teachers! I am also passionate about working with students to help them develop learning strategies to be successful in college and beyond. When I have downtime, I enjoy hiking, dancing, and spending time with my family.

Alejandro (Alex) Gonzalez

My name is Alex, and I am the Educational Advisor of TPSSS. I graduated from OSU with a B.A in Liberal Arts – Spanish. I was born and raised in Mexico City. Before taking the Educational Advisor position I was a high school IA. I worked primarily with English Learners, and Special Education students. I enjoy working out, running, adrenaline, and fútbol! I am also fascinated with learning new languages! 

Ann Tilgner

Hi! I’m Ann Tilgner. I am the Project Support Specialist for TPSSS. I make sure all the administrative details get taken care of and I love being part of a team working together to resource students to be their most successful selves. I attended Oregon State University as a low income student graduating with a BS in Biology/Marine Biology. I have a wide array of experiences working with high school students from low income families and alternative needs, including teaching writing and biology. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, coordinate weddings, hike, stroll the beach, volunteer in our community, and cook for other people.

My name is Jose Rojas Olivares. I am a student leader on campus and a future elementary school teacher. I currently am in the Bilingual Teacher Scholars Program majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in English for Speakers of Other Languages. In my free time, I enjoy baking and volunteering for whatever opportunities there are in my community. If you need a good laugh or I can help in any way, don’t be afraid to reach out!

Hi, my name is Cristina Olivares and I am a current student here at Western. I’m a part of the Bilingual Teachers Program and I plan on majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a minor in ESOL. My name is Gracee Potter. I am a transfer student from Central Oregon Community College and now am majoring in elementary education as a junior at Western Oregon University. I am excited to get the opportunity to make a difference in children’s lives as I further my way to becoming a teacher. When I am not working for TPSSS, I am working at a local daycare as a teacher and get to spend time with the most amazing kiddos! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, watching Netflix, hiking, and spending time outdoors! You can find me at the TPSSS office throughout the week. Hello, my name is Gema, pronounced like the Henna tattoo but with an ‘m’ instead of an ‘n.’ My pronouns are she/her/hers/ella and this is my fourth year here at WOU. My major is Physical Education with a minor in ESOL. I want to work with first generation, low income, minority students since I am a first generation student and I want to be able to be part of programs that help these students. I value education a lot and want to help any student that I can to further their education, as well as being a moral support. I’m also a part of Kappa Delta Chi which is a Multicultural sorority on campus. Some of my hobbies/things that I like to do are paint, go hiking, workout, and spend time with my family and friends.
