Presidential Vacancy

Presidential Vacancy

On October 10, 2020, Dr. Rex Fuller, WOU’s 23rd president and the first president since receiving a separate governing board in 2015, announced his retirement.  While his employment agreement does not end until September 30, 2021, his announcement allowed the Board to plan for the search for his replacement.  After consideration, due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic and the academic hiring calendar, the Board decided to pursue an interim president for approximately one year while It prepares to launch a search for a regular successor in fall 2021.  This website is a clearinghouse for both searches; it contains valuable information for the interim and regular searches, including the Board Statement on Presidential Vacancies, guidelines for each search, timelines, and eventually, members of advisory and search committees and feedback mechanisms.

Nominations and expressions of interest may be sent to Expressions of interest should include a cover letter and curriculum vitae (CV).

Review of expressions of interest and application materials will begin March 15, 2021.
