FALL TERM 2019 

  • September 30: Classes Begin
  • October 11: Last Day to Register for Classes
  • October 25: Last Day to Drop Classes
  • November 11: Registration for Winter 2020 Begins
  • November 21: Student Recital | 11:00am | Smith Recital Hall
    • The application for the student recital, which is obtained from Julia Harrington, must be approved by the student’s performance instructor and turned in at least one week prior to recital date.
  • December 9: Wind/Brass Juries | 10:00am | SH 2018
  • December 9: JCM Juries | 12 noon | SH 108/APSC 230
  • December 10: Composition Juries | 9:00am | Location TBA
  • December 10: 300-Level Juries | 12 noon | Smith Recital Hall
  • December 11: Voice Juries | 4:00pm | Smith Recital Hall

WINTER TERM 2020

  • January 6: Classes Begin
  • January 17: Last Day to Register for Classes

    • Look for the sign-up sheet and application form on the music department bulletin board.
  • April 24: Last Day to Drop Classes
  • April 28: Returning Music Major Scholarship Auditions | 11:00am | Smith Recital Hall
    • Look for the sign-up sheet and application form on the music department bulletin board. Students that have been selected to perform on either of the Honors Recitals must fill out and turn in an application for returning music major scholarships by the appropriate date but do not need to audition.
  • May 3: Honors Recital | 3:00pm | Smith Recital Hall
  • May 11: Registration for Summer 2020/Fall 2020 Begins
  • May 21: Student Recital | 11:00am | Smith Recital Hall

    • An end-of-the-year party! Announcement of departmental awards and scholarships followed by a faculty-sponsored BBQ and/or Pizza Feed.

  • June 9: 300-Level Juries | 12 noon | Smith Recital Hall
  • June 10: Voice Juries | 4:00pm | Smith Recital Hall
  • June 13: Graduation

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
