CECLC website attacked

The CECLC website was compromised by hackers within the last 48 hours.  Presently we are working to recover from the damage.  We have temporarily moved cecleadershipconference.org to another server at BridgeTown Hosting.

As a result, some of the pages on the site are out of date at this time.    We are working to resolve the problem.

Note: We are unable to receive email at any @cecleadershipconference.org address at this time.

Website Update

On or around January 24th the CECLC website suffered  a major attack from hackers.  The attack, which we believe originated from Russia or Ukraine*, took down the website and hijacked our system.  During the down time, any attempts to view our website resulted in blank pages being displayed.  There was no known danger presented to computers of those who visited the site.  We learned that our resources were stolen and used as a repository for bootleg videos and other content.

We have fully recovered from the incident with the exception of a small amount of lost content on the website, which we are working to restore.  Also lost was the use of our email system.  Please note:  Email sent between January 24th and January 27th was likely permanently lost.  If you attempted to send mail to any address @cecleadershipconference.org during that time, we probably have not seen it.  Please send again.

Thank you.

Further forensic investigation revealed that culprits are in northern India.

25th Anniversary Conference

2015 marks an important milestone in conference history.  What started as a small gathering of 125 Hispanic high school students from Portland in the city’s Montgomery Park building has grown into the largest Latino youth leadership conference in the Pacific Northwest.  Come help us celebrate this historic event.

26th César E. Chávez Leadership Conference

March 4th, 2016 is the date for the largest Latino youth leadership conference in the Pacific Northwest!   Please bear with us as we update our website in advance of the event.

Check back frequently over the next several weeks.  We will continue add information for attendees, presenters, exhibitors, and sponsors as well as news and photos of past events.

Website Status Announcement

Our website host, site5.com, suffered a catastrophic failure early in the morning on December 17th.  While the hosting company is busy restoring the service, we have temporarily moved cecleadershipconference.org to another server at BridgeTown Hosting.

As a result, some of the pages on the site are out of date at this time.    We are working to resolve the problem.

Note: We are unable to receive email at any @cecleadershipconference.org address at this time.

Update: CECLC Website Status

We apologize for the downtime we experienced over the last couple of days.  This was due to technical problems outside our control.  We still are not able to receive email at any addresses ending with @cecleadershipconference.org.

  • If you need to contact CECLC you may leave a comment on this post page.  Your comment will not appear on the website.  We will respond as soon as we are able.

The The César E. Chávez Leadership Conference (CECLC) website has a temporary new home.  While we wait for our usual web host, site5.com, to recover from a serious failure hosting space was donated by BridgeTown Hosting.  We will continue to post updates on our site status.

Thank you for your patience.
