What has been the most exciting aspect of attending university in the US?

I can learn different culture from here, and I can practice my English and learn professional knowledge here.

Before you came to the US for university, what was your biggest worry about coming here?

The biggest I worried is the language problem. I’m afraid I can’t understand what others said. 

What has been the most challenging aspect of attending university in the US?

Lots of assignments homework waiting for me everyday. And I can’t understand what professors’ said in class. 

What university resources have you used to be successful?

I think professors’ office hour is most useful for me. Additionally, also has the tutor and writing center.

What skills have you developed as a university student?

Learn how to get along well with different country’s different culture’s people. 

What advice would you give to new international students?

Know more information about your school before you come here, and don’t always talk your country’s language.

Every America holiday, I will spend time with American family and it’s real enjoyed. Also I find jobs in campus, so I can make some money by myself.

我可以着美国学习不同的文化并且练习我的英语。在这里我可以学到最先进的专业知识对于我的专业。

来美国读大学之前,最让你担心的事情是?

我最担心的问题是我不能听懂别人在讲什么以至于我不知道该如何回答。

在美国读大学所面临的最大挑战是?

每天都有很多作业,而且我听不懂老师在课堂上讲什么。

帮助你成功的学校资源是?

在我看来我觉得教授的办公时间是对我最有用的资源,除此之外还有辅导的和写作中心也是很有用的。

成为大学生为你带来的新技能是?

我学会了该怎样同不同国家,不同文化的人相处。

你会给新的国际学生什么建议?

来之前了解更多的学校信息,不要总和自己国家的人讲话。多练习英语。

告诉我们一件关于你的趣事?

每当美国传统节日时我会去美国人家里同他们一起庆祝节日,我还在学校里找到了兼职,这样我就可以挣一些钱。

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
