The green Team collects recycling from resident hall’s centralized areas, provides educational programming about sustainability which increases awareness of environmental dangers and provides solutions which can be found on campus. Take a look at the following links to find tips on how to live sustainably, both on campus and off.

In addition to these resources, WOU also provides resources for students to compost! Students can take any compost, this includes most items from Valsetz, Café Allegro, Wolf Grill, Western Deli, and WOU catering. Such items may be:

Left-over food containers
To-go plates, boxes, cups, lids, straws, and silverware
Backstage pizza boxes

Bring any of the above items to the Valsetz conveyer belt and help save the environment!

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
