Speed and Strength Camp

WOU is committed to improving the athleticism and team skills of our local student athletes by providing a safe, fun skill based experience for kids ages 7-18 years old.

This camp helps young athletes gain a step up on the competition through expert instruction in a collegiate environment and interaction with collegiate student athletes.

Release of Liability & Consent for Medical Care & Treatment

In consideration for being allowed to participate in any way in the WOU Sports Performance Camp and related events and activities, the under- signed:

Agrees that the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will instruct the minor participant that prior to participating he/she should inspect the facilities and equipment to be used and if anything is believed to be unsafe, he/she should contact the Director immediately and refuse to participate.

Acknowledges and fully understands that each participant will be engaging in activities that involve risk of serious injury which might result not only from their own actions, inaction or negligence but the actions, inaction or negligence or others, the rules of play or the condition of the premises or of any equipment used.

Assume all the forgoing risks and accept personal responsibility for the damages following such injury. Releases, waives, discharges the WOU Staff and Camp Coaches from any and all liability to each of the under-signed, his or her heirs, nest of kin and parent(s)/guardian(s) from all claims, demands, losses or damages on ac- count of injury, including death or damage to property, caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the releases or other- wise, and covenants not to sue the WOU Staff or Camp Coaches.

Parent(s)/Guardian(s) authorizes all medical, surgical, diagnostic and hospital procedures as may be performed or presented by a physician for the above said if I cannot be reached in case of emergency.

I/WE HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE, AND THEREFORE VOLUNTARILY UNDERSTAND THAT I/WE GIVE UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING BELOW. I/WE ALSO UNDER-STAND THAT COR1 ATHLETICS MAY TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS OF PARTICIPANTS & ACTIVITIES OF THE CAMPS AND MAY USE SUCH PHOTOGRAPHS RELATING TO PROMOTION OF FUTURE WOU CAMPS .

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
