This session highlights student research projects focusing on the intersection of volcanism and humans, as part of the Senior Seminar capstone experience course, leading towards completion of undergraduate degrees in Earth and Environmental Science. EES students have conducted in-depth study and research on a range of topics that consider how volcanic eruptions impact human health, drive global climate change, and how to mitigate volcanic hazards. Viewed through the lens of globally significant eruptions that have impacted humans, this session will explore the influence of volcanoes on people, cultures, and societies through time.
