Accommodations

This page provides an overview of common accommodations available through Disability Access Services (DAS) at Western Oregon University. For helpful reminders on using your accommodations effectively, visit our Tips and Resources to be Successful.

Priority Registration

Students with an active DAS file who are approved for academic accommodations are eligible for priority registration. This allows you to register one week before registration opens for all other WOU students, giving you extra time to plan for the accommodations you will need in the upcoming term.

Advocacy

All students can receive guidance in understanding university policies and procedures, helping them communicate effectively with faculty and staff. DAS encourages self-advocacy by supporting students in developing these important skills. If you would like assistance, please schedule an appointment with DAS at your earliest convenience.

Common Accommodations, Explained

After your services are approved by DAS, you will receive a welcome letter via your campus email and be asked to schedule an orientation with our office. During orientation, a DAS staff member will walk you through how your accommodations work and how to access them through AIM.
