Website Update

On or around January 24th the CECLC website suffered  a major attack from hackers.  The attack, which we believe originated from Russia or Ukraine*, took down the website and hijacked our system.  During the down time, any attempts to view our website resulted in blank pages being displayed.  There was no known danger presented to computers of those who visited the site.  We learned that our resources were stolen and used as a repository for bootleg videos and other content.

We have fully recovered from the incident with the exception of a small amount of lost content on the website, which we are working to restore.  Also lost was the use of our email system.  Please note:  Email sent between January 24th and January 27th was likely permanently lost.  If you attempted to send mail to any address @cecleadershipconference.org during that time, we probably have not seen it.  Please send again.

Thank you.

Further forensic investigation revealed that culprits are in northern India.

CECLC website attacked

The CECLC website was compromised by hackers within the last 48 hours.  Presently we are working to recover from the damage.  We have temporarily moved cecleadershipconference.org to another server at BridgeTown Hosting.

As a result, some of the pages on the site are out of date at this time.    We are working to resolve the problem.

Note: We are unable to receive email at any @cecleadershipconference.org address at this time.

This conference is open to Latino high school students from Multnomah, Washington, Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn-Benton and Clackamas Counties. The goal of the conference is to provide information, motivation and an opportunity for Latino students to gain skills to help them prepare for their future. This is the largest Latino high school student leadership conference in the state of Oregon. Last year approximately 1,500 students participated in this event. The conference schedule is from 8:00am-4:00pm, however the College/Career Fair will run from 10:00 am-2:00 pm including a lunch break. Update: CECLC Website Status

We apologize for the downtime we experienced over the last couple of days.  This was due to technical problems outside our control.  We still are not able to receive email at any addresses ending with @cecleadershipconference.org.

  • If you need to contact CECLC you may leave a comment on this post page.  Your comment will not appear on the website.  We will respond as soon as we are able.

The The César E. Chávez Leadership Conference (CECLC) website has a temporary new home.  While we wait for our usual web host, site5.com, to recover from a serious failure hosting space was donated by BridgeTown Hosting.  We will continue to post updates on our site status.

Thank you for your patience.
