Global Care Business Operations Manager, T-Mobile’s Experience Center Cristian Mendez-Garcia, WOU Class of 2008, currently serves in T-Mobile’s Experience Center as a Global Care Business Operations Manager. Active in T-Mobile’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and Oregon’s migrant farmworker communities, Mendez-Garcia has seen the power of communication between diverse groups improve community and build bridges for a better future. Prior to joining the WOU Board of Trustees, Mendez-Garcia was a member of the Western Oregon University Foundation Board of Trustees.
Western Oregon University’s Land AcknowledgementWestern Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
