Safety Escort Program

Western Oregon University Campus Public Safety offers a safety escort program for all staff, faculty, students, and University guests from dusk until dawn. An officer will walk with you, watch you walk or stay on the phone with you from one on-campus location to another (the safety escort can only be performed within the geographical boundary of WOU).  Please call (503) 838-8481 and have the following information ready and available:

  • Your name
  • A phone number to contact you at
  • The location that you would like the officer to meet you
  • The location that you would like the officer to escort you to

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
