New Student & Family Programs
Megan Habermann-Guthrie
She/Her/Hers
Director, New Student & Family Programs
Megan earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and her Master of Science in College Student Personnel from the University of Rhode Island. She previously worked in the Campus Activities Office at Vassar College and has been at Western since 2009. Megan’s favorite part of working with new students is the fresh perspectives and energy they bring to our campus!
Shelby Worthing
She/Her/Hers
Assistant Director, New Student & Family Programs
Shelby earned her Bachelor of Science in Economics from Western Oregon University and has been at Western since 2017. Shelby’s favorite part of working with new students is watching them make new friends, grow as adults, and make WOU their new home away from home. Her favorite orientation activity is the Variety Show, watching all of the new students show off their talents and find similar interests!
TJ Rabosky
He/Him/His
Coordinator, New Student & Family Programs
TJ is a proud WOU alum with a B.S. in Mathematics. During his time as a student at WOU, he worked in various positions on campus in student affairs with the New Student and Family Programs department, residence life as a resident assistant, and academic affairs as a math tutor. TJ’s favorite part of working with new students is helping them establish and build independence, and seeing them make connections!
Amy Valencia

Administrative Program Specialist, New Student & Family Programs and Student Engagement
Amy graduated from WOU back in the old days with a degree in Psychology. She stayed in the area to raise her family and always wanted to come back to work for WOU. Her husband is also a WOU alum and she has 2 kids that are now college age. Her favorite part of working for WOU so far is being able to catch a baseball game during her lunch and meeting all the great students that attend.

Hayden Campos

Educational Advisor, Student Enrichment Program (SEP)
Hayden graduated from WOU in June 2021 with a B.S in Psychology and double minor in Forensic Psychology and Youth Crime Studies. He was a first generation college student as well and understands how crucial having a support system is during this transitional period. Hayden is passionate about serving underrepresented students through their educational and personal journey. Some of his favorite hobbies include being outdoors in nature, exploring new places with friends and family, and traveling.
Alicia Monrroy

Educational Advisor, Student Enrichment Program (SEP)
Alicia graduated from Western Oregon University in June of 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science. She joined the SEP staff in September of 2007 as an Educational Advisor. As a former Upward Bound and SEP/SSS graduate, she is passionate about helping students succeed. Alicia enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music and traveling.
Alyssa Nafziger

Interim Academic Success Advisor, Student Success & Advising (SSA)
Alyssa graduated from WOU with a Bachelor of Science in Education Studies. While completing her undergraduate degree, she had the opportunity to work for SSA both as a student employee and an intern. She is passionate about providing support to students and assisting them in reaching their goals. In her free time she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends, family and her two dogs.
Dana Nuñez-Silva

First Gen Coordinator/Educational Advisor, Student Enrichment Program (SEP)
Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Family and Human Services from the University of Oregon. She has been at Western since 2022. Dana knows that transitioning into college can be a really exciting, nerve racking, and chaotic time. Serving as a home base and talking about resources she wishes she knew as an incoming student has been her favorite part of working with new students. She is looking forward to being a holistic support, as it is important to reduce the anxieties a new student may feel when starting this exciting chapter.

Advisor/Leadership Coordinator, Multicultural Student Services & Programs (MSSP)
Nancy earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Public Health from Western Oregon University. Nancy’s favorite part about working with new students is getting to know their story and supporting them through such a big transition. She loves being able to connect students with the many resources on campus! During her free time she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Blanca earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Education and Social Sciences from Western Oregon University. She has been at Western since 2021. Blanca’s favorite part of working with new students is helping them network and see how much potential they have!
Joseph Gloria

Advisor/Instructional Coordinator, Multicultural Student Services & Programs (MSSP)
Joseph is a 2021 WOU alum who couldn’t be more excited to return to campus as an MSSP advisor and instructional coordinator. While attending Western Oregon, he earned his BA in PK-12 English Education with a minor in ESOL Education, for which he got to implement by teaching ELA at McMinnville High School for three years post-graduation. His particular educational passion lies in working with underrepresented students and families of diverse multicultural backgrounds and environments. His philosophical rationale is heavily rooted in urban/cultural responsivity that stems from his deep love for Hip-Hop/Rap values and teachings!

Tutoring Coordinator & Learning Specialist, Student Success & Advising (SSA)
Kennedy is originally from Colorado where he received his B.A. and M.A. in Communication Studies from Colorado State University. Kennedy’s biggest passion is helping students access tools and resources to unlock their best selves! His favorite part about advising new students is getting to learn their stories and all the cool things they have done that eventually brought them to Western!
Amber Logan

Educational Advisor, Teacher Prep Student Support Services (TPSSS)
Amber was born in Texas but grew up in Arizona before finally moving to beautiful Oregon with her husband in 2013. She earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.Ed. in Education, both from Arizona State University. Before joining the WOU family, she taught for 7 years as a Special Educator and then switched it up to a third grade classroom in the Albany School District for 5 years. She’s been a part of Teacher Prep Student Support Services for almost two years now and enjoys teaching First Year Seminar classes. She is thrilled to support future teachers in obtaining their degrees and looks forward to working with you!
