English

The English major

consists of a flexible combination of courses in Literature, Writing and Linguistics.

The Language Arts major (for students preparing to teach English Language Arts at the middle or high school levels) combines courses in the English department with courses in the College of Education.

Our exciting curriculum allows students to explore a wide range of literary cultures and genres, professional and creative writing, and an understanding of the structure and social significance of language.
