    Special Day SEIU Employees

    Per Article 38: Holidays, Section 2 – CBA between OPU and SEIU

      Special Day – Unclassified Employees

      Full-time employees who began work on or before November 15, 2024, are eligible for a “Special Day” of paid leave each fiscal year. Part-time employees will receive this leave on a prorated basis, calculated according to their normal work schedule.

      “Special Day” paid leave becomes available July 1 and may be used on any mutually agreeable day between July 1 and June 30 of the fiscal year in which it is granted. Any unused leave will be forfeited and is not eligible for payout or carryover.

        Temporary Interruptions of Employment During Winter Break – SEIU Represented Employees

        Per Article 51, paperwork is sent out by Human Resources at the end of November through beginning of December

          Lack of Work during Winter Break – Unclassified Employees

          Arrangements made with supervisor prior to the end of Fall term

            Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
            Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
