Campus Catering Information

We are thrilled to provide you with diverse menu options and exceptional service for your event. We believe in satisfactory customer service and quality. Currently employing over 60 students, we offer real-life job skills by providing students with training and experience in project management, event planning, leadership, critical thinking and sustainability. 

When you choose WOU Catering, you’re supporting the professional development of WOU students. One of our biggest goals is to establish and strengthen relationships with the university, and we do so by having very open and constant communication with others, flexibility and by offering true value. Do I HAVE to work with Conference & Event Services to plan an event at WOU?

WOU-only Events

If you are a student, faculty, or staff member and you are planning an event on campus for WOU community members, then you should NOT work with Conference & Event Services. You can simply create your own reservation by doing the following:

You do NOT need to log in to make a reservation request. To make an online reservation request go to wou.edu/astra   Simply, click on the Events tab on the top left, then “Request Event” to get things started! To change an existing reservation, email list of changes to: reservations@wou.edu OR call 503-838-8261. The Info Desk staff will direct your call to an available scheduler.

WOU-Sponsored Events

Are you a WOU-Sponsored Conference/Customer?

This is defined as University departments or chartered student organizations holding events at Western Oregon University that include outside participants, may charge an admission/registration fee, or act as a host to an outside organization.

Yes, you are required to work with Conference & Event Services. 

Non-Affiliated Events

Are you a Non-Affiliated Conference/Customer?

This is defined as any customer group not affiliated with WOU’s general business and are primarily outside groups or individuals requesting to utilize Western’s facilities. (i.e. weddings, outside meetings and conferences, receptions, performances, fundraisers, etc. fall under this category). The audience does not consist primarily of WOU students, clubs and organizations, faculty, administrators, staff or alumni of the University, and does not have a significant potential to serve as a recruitment tool for future students. Approval of the reservations may depend upon the appropriateness and/or fit of the event with the larger mission of the University.

Yes, you are required to work with Conference & Event Services.

Additional Policies & Waivers

100% Fee Waiver for Recruitment-Based Events. 

This discount may be granted for: 

  • room reservations
  • parking
  • AV access

To qualify, the event must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be approved by the VP of Student Affairs via the official form found below
  • Be recruitment-focused, in partnership with admissions

Use our Conference Event Fee Waiver Form to submit your request for a waiver of facility use fees for your WOU Sponsored conference event. Professional staff will respond within 3 working days.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
