Why I chose WOU

I chose Western because of its diversity and intentional vision to include and empower all. Western also aligns perfectly with my career aspirations and personal interests.

My hobbies are traveling, gardening, spending time in nature, and spending time with my family. I also love watching movies.

I love movies! One of my favorite movies is - A man called Otto.

Areas of responsibility

As Policy & Procedure Coordinator my role is to ensure that Child Care Substitutes of Oregon remains organized in their development and management of relevant policies. This includes liaising with partners and community organizations, reviewing documents for compliance, and documenting all relevant policies as they relate to Oregon’s Office of Child Care and Western Oregon University.

Education

Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) Degree from Chemeketa Community College. I am currently pursuing a B.A. Interdisciplinary degree from Western Oregon Univeristy (expected graduation 6/2024). My Interdisciplinary degree has three fcocues; Humanities, Social Sciences, and Education. 

Professional experience

I have over 17+ years in public education. I also have experience in different fields such as office management, legal assistance, and project management.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
