Hello, everyone! My name is Alexandria, and I am a criminal justice major that is also minoring in forensic psychology! I can’t wait to meet new people and welcome new students into their new home here at WOU! As a transfer student myself, I especially can’t wait to welcome transfer students and provide them with support when it comes to the journey behind transferring as well!

My name is Alyssa, and I am from Cloverdale, OR. I’m majoring in education with a minor in ESOL. I hope to one day be a high school principal or superintendent. I’m very excited to be an orientation leader this year! If I had any advice for new students, it would be to take advantage of the silly icebreakers to make new friends. The sooner the better! Remember everyone is just as nervous to be here as you are, so don’t worry!

I chose WOU for their amazing education program and their diverse inclusivity. My favorite thing about WOU is how much support I receive from my advisors and professors. Next school year I look forward to entering my student teaching!

Stay open to new experiences, step outside of your comfort zone, and give yourself grace when things don’t feel perfect right away. Growth takes time, and WOU is a place where you’re allowed to learn, change, and become the best version of yourself.

Oh yupp, this is my third year here at WOU. I’m majoring in exercise science with a pre-clinical concentration. A little fun fact about me is I’m fluent in English and Spanish, but I have also learned some Portuguese and ASL. My biggest advice is to try new things even if it’s just for fun. It’s fine if you’re scared, just remember to be comfortable being uncomfortable! It’s the only way to grow.

Leadership Common Application

Along with University Housing, the office of New Student & Family Programs manages the Leadership Common Application. This one application allows students to apply to be a Resident Assistant as well as a WOU Crew Peer Advisor in one, streamlined application and interview process. This application goes live on December 1st and closes on January 31st each year.
