PACK Welcome Week

Before you dive into your first term of classes, we have a jam-packed week of exciting activities to help you become acclimated to campus life. From speakers, to socials, to signing your name on the sidewalk, join your fellow new wolves to begin making your mark at WOU!

Fall orientation is your time to get to know all about WOU, make new friends, and  explore various opportunities available to you as you embark on your journey at Western Oregon University!

What Happens During PACK Welcome Week?

We’re glad you asked!

PACK Welcome Week takes place the week before fall term classes begin. Throughout the week, current students will lead the way through a variety of activities to help you become more familiar with WOU. We had everything from motivational speakers, resource fairs, drive-in movies, and more (but we don’t want to spoil the surprises)! You’ll get to meet other incoming students and form connections while learning what it means to be a wolf. We can’t wait to see you there!

PACK Welcome Week 2024 will take place from September 22nd-28th, 2024.

If you have questions or would like additional information, please contact us at orientation@wou.edu.

Be ready to be engaged, encouraged, and empowered by Monti who has obtained two college degrees, become a state basketball champion, award winning poet, McDonald’s All-American nominee, nationally recognized actor, and co-founder of Truality.org, a non-profit organization aimed at inspiring youth to be TRU The Real U.

If you need assistance with your resume, or want to know what to expect from general interviews, feel free to visit CPP, WUC119 and talk with one of our trained staff. Interviews are by invitation, or drop in. If you drop in you can schedule a time, or wait for an opening.

C-Word: Consent Program

The C-Word: Consent is an interactive, educational program that uses a combination of audience interaction, improv exercises, and thoroughly researched information to break down walls and have a frank, difficult, but needed conversation about sex and consent. This program covers a wide range of topics that include effective boundary setting, online behavior, bystander intervention, and survivor resources. Content warning: This training discusses sensitive topics and content on sexual assault and interpersonal violence, which may be difficult; students are encouraged to prepare themselves emotionally beforehand or take a brief period of time away from the program if needed to attend to their own well-being. Students may contact an Abby’s House Confidential Advocate at confidentialadvocate@wou.edu if they wish an exemption or seek an alternative option if they are unable to complete the training. If you need to speak to a WOU confidential support service, please contact Abby’s House (503-838-8219) or the Student Health & Counseling Center (503-838-8313).
