The department of New Student and Family Programs aims to provide new students and their families with the information and resources they need to succeed as they begin a new chapter of their lives. We strive to create a welcoming and accessible environment for all students to feel at home in the Western Oregon University community. Summer Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)

Destination Western

Strong mathematics and writing skills are essential to a successful college career. Join us for the inaugural Destination Western session this September to boost your academic preparedness, meet new friends, and kickstart your WOU experience!

New Student Week

Before you dive into your first term of classes, we have a jam-packed week of exciting activities to help you become acclimated to campus life. From speakers, to socials, to signing your name on the sidewalk, join your fellow new wolves to begin making your mark at WOU!

Talk with current student leaders online and discuss everything from academics to campus life to dining hall hacks! Learn more about your fellow incoming students! Stay on top of upcoming student activities, webinars, and onboarding deadlines with our weekly calendar! Check in with our friendly staff as needed about any enrollment requirements, orientation registration, or the first-year experience!
