Registering for Commencement

 

Commencement Participation

 

Eligible participants are students who:
  • Graduated summer 2019, fall 2019, winter 2020 or
  • Have completed an application to graduate in spring 2020, summer 2020 or
  • Undergraduates that have completed an application to graduate in fall 2020
Registration:

Students who are eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony are sent an email inviting them to register to participate in the commencement ceremony. If you believe you are eligible but did not receive an invitation, first confirm that you have applied to graduate. If you have applied to graduate and still have not received an invitation to register, contact the Registrar at registrar@wou.edu.

Below are deadlines that you must meet, we are unable to extend any of these deadlines:

  • April 30th – last day to apply to graduate for summer or fall in order to receive your Grad Pack.
  • May 1st – last day to submit Grad Pack shipping address updates.
  • May 21st – last day to register to participate in the ceremony. Those not registered by this date cannot participate in the ceremony.
  • May 31st – last day to upload your graduation photo and provide your final personal statement.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
