Student Positions

Upward Bound offers meaningful student positions that provide valuable work experience while helping to support our mission of preparing low-income and first-generation students for college success. Whether you’re looking to gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills, or contribute to a supportive community of learners, our student positions are designed to enrich both your personal and professional growth.
We offer a variety of roles for college students, including:

  • Tutors/Mentors: Provide academic support to Upward Bound students in subjects such as math, science, and English. Tutors help guide students through their coursework, homework, and college prep activities.
  • Student Office Assistants: Support the daily operations of Upward Bound by assisting with administrative tasks such as organizing student files, preparing materials, and greeting visitors. Office Assistants help maintain an efficient and welcoming environment for staff, students, and families.
  • Summer Camp Counselors/Residential Assistants: Lead groups of students during our summer residential program, assisting with academic and enrichment activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Summer Enrichment Class Leaders: Lead workshops and sessions that introduce students to skills in areas such as arts, foreign languages, theater, and more. We’re also open to other ideas you may have.

Why Work with Us?
