AI Tools for Faculty

The Center for Teaching and Learning has created AI powered tools to help faculty with various tasks.

AI Tools for Faculty

WOU Assignment Design Assistant Gem

This AI-powered consultant guides you through the TiLT (Transparency in Learning and Teaching) framework to eliminate academic jargon and clarify expectations. Whether you are polishing an old prompt or brainstorming a new idea from scratch, the assistant helps ensure every student has a clear path to success.
How the Process Works:

  • Step 1: Choose Your Mode – Select a Quick Polish, a Deep Dive, or Brainstorm a new idea based on your learning objectives.
  • Step 2: Pick a Student Mirror – See your assignment through the eyes of a first-gen freshman, a senior, or a custom student group you describe.
  • Step 3: Guided Thinking – Answer a few targeted, one-at-a-time questions to bridge gaps between your purpose, task, and criteria.
  • Step 4: Get Your Prompt – Receive a polished, TiLTed assignment—complete with an AI policy and accessibility check—ready for Canvas.

The WOU Assignment Design Assistant is a work in progress any and all feedback is welcome. Please email CTL@wou.edu and share your experience.
