Why Communication Studies

“”Communication is the most important skill any leader can possess.”  – Richard Branson, Billionare, Virgin Airlines.”  –Forbes magazine

“As a leader–or as an advocate–public speaking is the key to unlocking empathy, stirring excitement, sharing knowledge and insights, and promoting a shared dream.”  –Chris Anderson, TED Talks Curator

Well-Known Communication Majors

Welcome to the Department of Communication Studies

We specialize in educating students for success in a wide range of careers in fields such as public relations, law, health professions, non-profit management, government and international relations, community outreach, education, human resources, event planning, and many more.  Our emphasis on strong critical thinking, presentational and written communication skills provides students with the opportunity to develop and refine the qualities employers seek most.  More importantly, we help students connect their interests and passions to the needs of the world around them.
