Dr. Youngblood
served as president of Western
Oregon University for seven
years and accomplished many
things, including the building
of a new library, while president.
Youngblood graduated from
Oakland University in Rochester,
Michigan in 1965, with a Bachelor
of Arts degree in South Asian
studies and Political Science.
She also received a Master
of Arts in South Asian Studies
in 1966, and her Ph.D. in
Political Science in 1970.
Dr. Youngblood played an
active role in higher education
in the United States. She
also authored several publications
and been involved with a variety
of activities involving the
United States and Indian Governments.
She is active with groups
such as the YMCA, American
Cancer Society, and Salvation
Army in her community.
