KWOU exists to provide Western Oregon University with a student-run online radio station and podcast studio that represents the local community through its music library, programming, and events while providing students with real-world experience in the fields of audio production, event planning, public speaking, and live performance, database management, and customer relations. At KWOU students are responsible for any media that is produced and understand that in no way should their views and opinions represent the opinions of anyone and do not necessarily reflect the view of KWOU or Western Oregon University.

Western Oregon University’s Land Acknowledgement
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR is located within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
