Instructional Design Consultations
Great courses start with empowered instructors. Our goal at the Center for Teaching and Learning is to support faculty in developing their courses to combine good design and teaching principles with the unique magic that every instructor brings to their course. “Do with” is our guiding principle, and our goal is to provide instructors with the knowledge and tools to maintain their courses, as well as create new ones.
Templates for Departments & Divisions
Faculty can meet with an instructional designer and collaborate to design, build, and/or enhance a course. Instructional design consultations can include mapping a future course to its outcomes, transitioning an in person class to online or vice versa, preparing courses to be handed over to new instructors, discussing how to implement a pedagogical technique into your course (such as UDL or Specifications Grading), implementing instructional design best practices, using technological tools to help create a better online experience.
Custom LMS Tools
Sometimes unique situations call for unique solutions. Meet with our LMS admin to discuss how we can support your extracurricular Canvas endeavors. Our past projects have included:
-
- Self-enroll forms for clubs, trainings, and other non-credit bearing Canvas sites
- An enrollment system for Continuing Education
- Student participation checkers
Accessibility Checking & Advising
Whether you want to bake accessibility into the structure of your course or go in and update content after the fact, we can help! Accessibility covers a wide range of topics, from correct page formatting, color contrast, captions, machine readable PDFs, and beyond.
