MONMOUTH, Ore.—Western Oregon University is excited to announce its annual Giving Day, Howl from the Heart, taking place on March 4, 2025. This day of crowdfunding invites everyone to contribute financially to the projects and initiatives that matter most to them.

Since its launch in 2016, Giving Day has successfully raised nearly $1.4 million for various programs. Contributions have funded scholarships, supported athletic endeavors, and provided essential resources for student clubs and organizations, among other impactful uses.

This year, the Western community will have the opportunity to support over 60 projects spanning departments, scholarships, athletic programs, and campus organizations. Every gift, regardless of size, contributes significantly to enhancing the educational experiences of students.

“Giving Day is a wonderful opportunity for alumni, friends, and supporters to discover the incredible initiatives underway at our university and to choose which ones they wish to support,” said Dave Beasley Ph.D., director of annual giving. “Every contribution, no matter its size, is valued and makes a difference in the lives of our students. I truly cherish Giving Day as it empowers us all to contribute to the vision we have for Western’s future!”

Donations can be made online on March 4, by calling the Foundation at 503-838-8814, or by delivering gifts in person at The Cottage on campus. All Giving Day gifts count towards Wolves Rising: The Campaign for Western Oregon University’s $20M comprehensive campaign.

For the second year, Western is introducing a service component for students, who will engage in community service projects both on and off campus in the weeks leading up to Giving Day, and on March 4. Projects include a campus blood drive, a park cleanup in Salem, and working with local seniors. Western will also host a service fair on campus on March 4, connecting students with local community service organizations in need of volunteers.

Join Western Oregon University on March 4, 2025, for Howl from the Heart. Make a meaningful contribution and help ensure that every student at Western has the resources they need to thrive.
