MONMOUTH, Ore.—The Burlingham Trust recently granted $50K toward supporting the new Student Success Center at Western Oregon University. With a significant proportion of Western’s students, faculty and staff, and alumni coming from Marion County, this building will not only expand resources in Monmouth but also strengthen the deep ties between Salem, Monmouth, and the surrounding counties. With nearly 14,000 alumni living within 30 miles of the university and over 6,800 residing in Marion County, the new Student Success Center will have a profound impact on students from the region.
“Investing in the new Student Success Center is an investment in our future and historically underserved students,” said Ron Peters, chair of the Burlingham Trust. “We are pleased to contribute to this vital resource for the university as it will enhance student support systems and empower students to thrive both academically and professionally. Together, we are creating pathways to success.”
“We are incredibly grateful to the Burlingham Trust for their generous gift,” said Katie Wojke, vice president of Advancement and executive director of the WOU Foundation. “This contribution will significantly support our mission to provide the important resources and programs that will be available to all students through the new Student Success Center.
The new Student Success Center is now open and will provide a welcoming space for students to access academic support and resources that empower them to succeed. Learn more about the Student Success Center.
