Books I am reading for fun in Ghana

I have read more books for fun in the last two weeks than I have in a year. I would be grateful if you would offer suggestions for books I might enjoy in the comments. I will continue to post the books I read in this post. Here is what I have read so far:

  • Ghana (Bradt Travel Guides), Philip Brigs
  • The Mystery of Mary, Grace Livingston Hill
  • Still Life with Murder (Nell Sweeney Mystery Series), P.B. Ryan
  • Inseparable Harm (Sasha McCandless Legal Thriller), Melissa F. Miller
  • A Reason to Live: A Marty Singer Mystery, Matthew Iden
  • Remains of Innocence (A Brady Novel of Suspense), J.A. Jance

  1. I adore the Mary Russell books, by Laurie R. King. The first in the series is called “The Bee Keeper’s Apprentice.”

Actually, if you can get through them quickly, I bet you’d enjoy the one where they go to India, called “The Game,” or Morocco, called “Garment of Shadows.”

Anyway, if you start that series and enjoy it, you’ll have a dozen more to go, with more on the way. 😉
(I listen to them on audiobook – the narrator, Jenny Sterling, does a fantastic job!)

  2. Thank you for the suggestions. I hope to find those. I have downloaded several more books and have read “A tale for the time begin: A novel” by Ruth Ozeki, “No Mercy: A Sgt Major Crane murder mystery” by Wendy Cartmell, and I am now reading “A cold day for murder (Kate Shugak Novels)” by Dana Stabenow. I have also downloaded “Modern Akan: A concise introduction to the Akuapem, Fanti, and Twi language.” I hope to learn some Twi and Fanti while we are here.

  3. Oh, my! I didn’t know you were there… am enjoying reading your blogs…and will continue, for sure!!! Oh my, what an adventure! For reading, consider Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander Series… and if you get done with those, do Jean Auel’s Clan of the Cave Bear series.

I’m so jazzed that you’re able to do this type of sabbatical and trip! Looking forward to continuing reading about it!
