How to pack a box

1. Pack it up

Mail Couriers are (in fact) human beings and human beings can sometimes make mistakes. They trip, they drop things and sometimes they’re just careless and this can lead to damage. My advice is to pack your shipment in enough protective layers (paper, bubble wrap, packing peanuts) so that it could be dropped from waist height on to a concrete ground and not incur damage.

2. Insure it

If your shipment is worth money then insure it for goodness’ sake! It’s like that saying, trust the neighbors but brand your cattle…. have a “Plan B” in case of damage. How much does it need to be worth to justify insuring it? Well, I’d say any amount that you don’t want to have to pay to replace something due to someone else’s negligence…. so any amount really.

3. Send it fast

The longer your parcel is in transit, the more people are going to touch and handle it making it more likely to be dropped or broken! So, if you have an heirloom crystal vase that is worth a couple thousand dollars to send to Aunt Velma, pay a little extra to send it by 2 day express or overnight!
