Rehearsals will be held Monday – Friday nights from 6 – 10PM beginning Monday, June 14 on the campus of Western Oregon University (WOU). Performances will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, July 22, 23, 24 and Thursday, Friday, Saturday, July, 29, 30, 31 on the Leinwand Outdoor Stage on the Campus of WOU (COVID—Restrictions permitting). All performances will begin at 7:30PM.
Exercising an abundance of caution, VSC will move forward with three possible plans for this upcoming production:
- Normal Operations: If local, state and federal CDC mandates allow, VSC will offer a standard production with normal seating configurations on the Leinwand Outdoor stage with a first-come-first-served free show on the lawn outside of Rice Auditorium. (This plan will likely require some level of social distancing and masking.)
- Restricted Operations: Depending on local, state and federal CDC mandates, it is possible that we will have to limit seating and utilize a reserved ticketing system in which the seating area on the lawn are divided into socially distanced “areas” that will be reserved in advance. While tickets will remain free of charge, audience members will have to reserve their seats in advance. (This plan will likely require some level of social distancing and masking.)
- Filmed Summer Show: If we are not able to produce a show with a live audience this summer, we plan to cast, fully rehearse, design, build and perform the show and film it for presentation on WOU TV and local access stations. This will be a fully directed, multi-camera film production of VCS’s production Twelfth Night.
The roles of Malvolio, Sir Andrew and Maria have been precast with guest professionals. All other roles are available at this time. Roles are not bound by original gender: females may be cast in roles written for males and visa versa.
