Scholarship opportunities for France

Here are some opportunities to go to France with money in your pockets.  I have a couple of students who have taken advantage of the assistant program.  If study abroad is too expensive, this is a very good alternative.

TAPIF-Teaching Assistant Program in France

The Teaching Assistant Program in France offers you the opportunity to work in France for 7 months, teaching English to French students of all ages. Each year, over 1,100 American citizens and permanent residents teach in public schools across all regions of metropolitan France and in the overseas departments of French such as Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.

The application for the 2017-2018 school year is NOW AVAILABLE at tapif.org

Dufrenoy Scholarships to study Sciences in France

Each year the Jean et Marie-Louise Dufrenoy scholarships enable two American students in the sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, geology, botany) or in technology (engineering, computer science, etc.) to pursue further studies in France during a full academic year within the student’s own field.

The amount of this scholarship is US$ 25,000 paid in two installments (half in July, half in December).

Jeanne Marandon fellowships to research & study HSS in France

Each of the Jeanne Marandon fellowship offers students in the field of Human and Social Sciences the opportunity to study and do research in France.

Fellowships 2017-2018 are awarded at five levels: short-stay (less than 3 months), undergrad, Master’s, PhD level and PostDoc.

The exact stipend depends (ranging from US$ 1,500 to US$ 25,000) on the academic level of the proposed project and the length of stay requested.

Applications in all disciplines are considered, but applicants in literature, art, music, history, social sciences and communications have priority. Candidates not yet having studied or pursued a research project in the country for which they are applying also have priority.
